Chris is the founding Director of legal and professional service sector retained advisors and thought leaders Kingsmead Square and of the tri-partite Intuity Alliance, which launched September 2018. He advises on strategy, operations, transformation and smart implementation of business plans, via a range of retained roles in the sector. He has worked across professional services in legal, accounting, consulting, financial services and services organisations, including with all four of the Big Four – PWC, EY, KPMG and Deloitte.
A NewLaw pioneer for over 20 years, Chris has been an advisor and architect of a range of new legal business models, agile working, process improvement, outsourcing and shared service strategies and the creation of a string of new entrant Alternative Business Structures (ABS) in the UK market. His appointment as Chief Executive of UK lawyers Osborne Clarke in 2000 was in the first wave of business professionals taking law firm leadership roles. In his global management role at professional service outsourcing firm Integreon, he was instrumental in their rise to market leadership in legal process outsourcing (LPO).
One of the busiest speakers and writers on the business of law, Chris is a keynote presenter, producer, programmer, Chair and panellist at major conferences in Europe and the USA. He has been a guest tutor on legal MBA programmes, a regular judge of prestigious awards, including the British Legal Technology Awards, and a member of conference advisory boards. He has authored ‘Law Firms in the Digital Age’ and ‘The Legal Process Improvement Toolkit’ , as well as a series of Best Practice Guides on pricing, process and legal project management for the largest international law firm network, Lex Mundi.
